Conduit Located Inside Concrete Slab For Local Manufacturer

A local manufacturer in the Binghamton, New York area is currently remodeling, and is about to begin a project where they will be turning an old gymnasium into an office space. For the renovation they needed to tear up the old flooring to put in new, as well as run new electrical conduits through the remodeled areas. In order to do all of this they had to first find out where there were already utility lines running throughout the area so they would not be disturbed during any cutting or drilling.

The contractor working on the project had used ground penetrating radar on previous projects, similar to this, and knew it would save time, and reduce the chance to destroying any utility lines present within the slab. They decided to call the premier GPR company in the country, Ground Penetrating Radar Systems, LLC. to complete the survey.

Jim Bell of the Upstate, New York office, which focuses on the Buffalo, Rochester, Syracuse, Binghamton, Corning/Elmira, and Albany markets mobilized to the site and was able to quickly detect and lay out the lines running through the area in which the concrete would need to be cut out. Jim and GPR were able to complete this project in real time and with none of the radiation concerns that come with using x-ray. Ground Penetrating Radar Systems has the ability to locate and map out rebar, post-tension, and conduit prior to saw cutting and trenching.
